Seeing World through colorful glass

Beauty lies in eyes of the beholder. Things remain the same. Our perception makes the
difference. I got the chance to realize this when I visited a blind school.  While we, the sighted
population, remain busy in finding log in others' eyes, these differently abled children try to
discover beauty of their world with their remaining senses.

Devnar is a special school for blinds in Begumpet, Hyderbabad. It was started by Gouds some
twenty years ago, with 5 students enrolled. Today, it has around 500 students. The school has
lived upto expectations of its founder. Many students from Devnar are pursuing higher
education in well known institutions and many are working in MNCs.

During our visit to Devnar school, we had a chance to see how visually challenged children use
Braille for their studies. I was amazed to see children write fast in braille. Thanks to Louis Braille
who simplified their lives. More amazing thing was to see children move with ease in their
school compound. They walked, ran, danced without any support. Sometimes it was difficult to
believe that they could not see.
There I met Nagalaxmi. She is a great singer, comedian and an entertainer. She participated in
Idea Star Singer television programme which was featured on Maa TV. She even acted in telugu
movie Autograph. She is an ensemblance of life. She had accepted what life had to give to her,
but she never let her disability to stop her to enjoy life. Beauty does exists in eyes of the
beholder...

Hours spend with them were full of smiles. They entertained us with songs, dance and
performances. Children came to talk to us with enthusiasm. They were full of hope and energy.
They taught me an important lesson, to be happy with ourselves. God has plans for everyone of
us. We should accept them with smile.

Thanks to TCS-Maitree for making this week of 'Joy of Giving and Sharing' meaningful.

Answer to my Prayers

In times of distress, we often pray to God to forgive our sins and to take away all our sorrows.
We often pray for early reply to our prayers. We often stop and keep waiting for a solution for our problems..for a miracle to happen..

Are we wrong in asking something that our heart desires for?

Let's have a look at a letter from God.May be we find our answers...

Dear Child,

I'm your Father who art in Heaven. I'm the Almighty whose name you hail daily. You consider me omnipotent, and even I had a similar thought. However, now I realise that I have not been able to explain my thoughts clearly to you. It does not seems that we are on the same page. At least not after hearing your prayers..

I find people asking for remedies in their prayer. However my child, they are already with you. You consider me your Father. Then how could you assume that I would trouble you? My intention has always been to help you become a stronger person. So,whenever I put you in a challenging condition,I put the solution beside you. But you get so much involved in problem solving n brainstorming that you never pay heed to your neighbour. And the result is - a bad name for me...

You ask me to hold you in times of trouble. However at that time you are already in my arms. You just need to hold my arms tightly with the Faith that nothing is impossible for my Father. I know that i can overcome a hurdle. But I need your confidence to boost up my morale. After all,it's not an easy task to move mountains..Right?? :)

Prayers are not meant only for hard times. Instead of asking for help when in trouble, it's better to watch your steps to it. I would be glad if you ask me for guidance rather than help. It's not that there's something wrong in asking for something that your heart desires for. But it's more important to know what your heart truly desires for.

You pray daily that 'Thy kingdom come'.For me,my child, you are my kingdom. With your actions I implement my kingship. But the glare of this world has blinded you so much that you can't even recognize yourself. You have become so stubborn that I have to put challenges before you to wake you from your darkness. It's not only important to analyze a situation. It's equally important to analyze your words, thoughts and actions. It's important to please others. However,it's also important to realise what pleases you..

My challenges are not like your worldly tests, that you either pass or fail. It's for you to realize what I want you to understand. And if you fail to comprehend, then you have to undergo another test. This cycle repeats till my goal is accomplished. And for those who come out of this cycle, they enter next cycle of another task to be understood. So,no one is actually a winner. But those who give up turn out to be looser..

You are naughtiest among all my children, and very fast too. U have been moving so fast that you never realised that you have gone far from me. I'm trying to bridge that gap in the face of these challenges. It's really a tough job to see your child in trouble just to teach it. But after all I'm the God, doer of the most challenging tasks.. :)

Please try to understand me.

Your Father,
God.

In relations...

In relations, it's important to speak ...
It's important to let the other person know how u feel.
Though it's more about feelings. But right words that are placed wrong or never spoken can render gaps in a relation.
That's why even if one person is not talking to other, the other person keep on trying to start a talk.. This adamance to talk makes the person understand how much the other person cares for him or her. And Love can bridge any gap...
